coming up. 68 in santa rosa, 67 in san rafael. cooler back in the east bay after that the cold start with 63 in concord, 26 in livermore. quite a bit warmer down in the south bay. we got in on the 70s like dil gilroy at 72. feels more like late april and early may. santa cruz at 71. san jose at 6 and los gatos in the mid 60s. a few other spots that did reach into the 70s, we had scotts valley at 71, then you had cupertino at 70. san jose upper 60s. i want to put a pause on things for a moment. take a look at january winter extremes. anything unlike january should feel like here. throughout the entire month, the south bay has only had seven days of rain .69. we should have 2.081. with so much clear weather, the north bay has been stuck in the freezer. 16 days at or below 32 degrees and the average low is 37. at the coastline, this is where we put the wild twist on things. .at the coastline light offshore winds, that's where we had six days at 70 degrees and or above throughout santa cruz. outside of the sky camera network, there's the haze. the poor air quality we're under in the sant

. upper 50s, down to san jose around pleasanton and san francisco a blustery day. 56 around santa rosa. so the weekend forecast is going to be a reminder that, yes, it's still winter outside. we'll see the numbers in the low to mid-50s and once we clear out on monday and high pressure builds back in other than the patchy fog, things will look nice. in fact, by the middle part of next week, temperatures into the 60s which is just shy of what new orleans is seeing for the next seven days. in case you're wondering what it's like there. just a little bit warmer than we had today. >> very nice. if only we could all go there. it would be even nicer. we know someone who is going to go there. let's get to sports. you have a little bit of a cold. maybe you can't go and janelle can go in your place. >> janelle has so much good luck they want to send her with the team the way she is running this thing, baby. we've been on the 49ers beat all season long. after earning a trip to the super bowl the media circus is just beginning. as the big game approaches in just nine days, our own john henry smith on

we've had in at least a couple of weeks. more on that coming up. the highs today, 69 in santa rosa. 64 in san rafael. our warmest temperature down in the south bay with 71 in santa teresa after those offshore winds started to develop today, that's 71 degrees is now one of the warmest days we have had in over two months. that official high coming from steve hall says thank you so much. now a look outside of our live skyc camera network. under very mild and unusual weather for this time of the year, not going to cause any problems at the airports or on the road. once again, dry forecast here the next couple of days. also to the bay bridge those lights are very, very bright tonight. we'll have visibility at ten miles and/or better. so here is the deal. high pressure sitting offshore. that will continue the sinking air that's very, very warm for this time of the year and also giving us this slight offshore flow. so that will keep us clear for the morning hours. 30s and 40s. and then as we head throughout the afternoon, temperatures in the 60s and even a few low 70s expected. for tomorrow m

now it is cooling off in the north bay with 45 in novato. 45 in santa rosa. a little warmer in the south bay with 50 in san jose. but the biggest change, these over the past 6 to 12 hours has been the winds. they went from the dry offshore wind to now more of a southerly component. not only going to import cooler weather for the weekend, but look at this, for the first part of the weekend cloud cover moving from from the south. that's going to be shrouding up these the first part of your saturday. let's take you live outside our hd sky camera network. you can see poor air quality towards the bottom of the screen. but if you look straight up tonight, you're going to notice that increased cloud cover. also in san francisco, this isn't pollution at the lower levels. that's actually some stratus. that low-lying fog beginning to move into san francisco. and those city lights shining bright. probably a big night out on the town tonight with a lot of people celebrating hopefully a niners win here as we head throughout sunday. i don't want to jinx it. i'm just saying. we do have the system

advisory in effect. do advise some caution. warmest spot, santa rosa at 63, the coolest los gatos 52. take you outside of that sky camera network in san francisco. an awesome sunset tonight that mid level cloud cover is moving on over for tonight and that will keep a few areas just slig slightly warmer as we head into tomorrow morning. a look at those highs here as we head throughout tuesday's forecast. a bit of cloud cover and then by the midday hours some haze, some sunshine. temperatures in the mid-50s. then by 4:00 p.m. warmest spots in the interior valley with conditions expected to pop up to the low 60s. stay dry as we head throughout tuesday, wednesday, and also on thursday and even on thursday's forecast, a few 70s possible here for the interior valleys with plenty of upper 60s. if you happen to be heading to the super bowl and maybe you don't have a ticket you about you want to go there and do some prepartying, the party will be out in the dome. temperatures in the low to mid-60s with all systems clear weather. we should note for our, what is it, the hugest team in the bay a

rosa 42. some locations in the north bay valleys probably will drop into the mid 30s by tomorrow morning. wind speed still fairly blustery from 15 to 20 miles per hour. that's good news when it comes to air quality, stirring up all the pollution we've had around the bay area. so finally good to moderate air quality as we wrap up the weekend. but those chilly winds bringing some change down the coast. you can see on the radar just a lone shower here off bodega bay. more moisture coming down the coast is going to cross over our heads as we wake up till tomorrow morning. you can see how some of the rain has moved into sacramento and yes, snow, right now in the sierra. probably 2 to 4 inches around lake tahoe as the system moves on to northern nevada. there's not a lot of moisture to work with. this is a cold pattern for us. we get the systems that drop if out of the north. but it will toss a few showers possibly around mt. hamilton and around the coastal range into tonight and tomorrow morning. just like we saw today, mostly sunny skies. those winds will make things feel very cool o
